SIDDA COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, LTD. CELEBRATES ITS 2ND ANNIVERSARY WITH THE RELEASE OF FAITHFUL SERVANT

Bishop Michael Eldon’s Life Memorialized in 200 Page Coffee Table Book

NEW PROVIDENCE—Tuesday June 5, 2012: SIDDA Communications Group, Ltd. announces the launch of “FAITHFUL SERVANT; Reflections on the Life of The Right Reverend Michael Hartley Eldon, CMG.”  Bishop Eldon served as the first Bahamian Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.    The 234 page hardback book features hundreds of alluring (some never before seen) photos and insightful essays chronicling the life of one of the most beloved and prolific individuals in Bahamian History.  Spearheaded by Addis Huyler, Editor-in-Chief/CEO of SIDDA Communications Group Ltd and Adrian Archer, Editor-at-Large the project was initiated in the weeks after Bishop Eldon’s death in February 2011.  It represents the concerted efforts of the Anglican Diocese, the Eldon/Bethel family and Anglican Community at large to create this tangible memorial to a man whose legacy is responsible for the “Bahamianization” of The Anglican Church.  The release of this book coincides with SIDDA Communications’ second year anniversary of fair and legal trade in The Bahamas.

Addis Huyler said, “We at SIDDA Communications are incredibly proud of this project.  It is the ultimate opportunity to celebrate our anniversary by doing what it is that has made us so successful over these two years; that is telling people’s stories in ways that is meaningful and relevant.  Bishop Eldon’s life is one that has served as an inspiration to our entire nation, and so a piece like this was not only necessary, it was imperative.”  Huyler continued, “My hope and intention is that this book starts a trend in memorializing others of our national heroes in these ways.  Their stories are ones that speak to the very fabric that make up who we are as a people and it is important that they be preserved for generations to come.”

Sir Orville Turnquest, in his Foreword stated, “This book will truly serve as a reminder, both to the Anglican Church and to our Nation at large, of the immense contribution which was made by Bishop Michael Eldon to our national development, and to the remarkable legacy which he has left behind.”

“Collecting the photographs, editing the copy and watching this book develop has taken me down a journey of fond memories and new discoveries,” said Adrian A. W. Archer, Editor at Large.  “I am certain that you, who have had the joy and privilege to work, or be around Michael Hartley Eldon for any period of time, will smile, laugh and cry as you turn from page to page in this book”

Faithful Servant will be available for sale on Thursday June 7, 2012 at SIDDA Communications Group office, #11 Shirley Street Plaza (Opposite Better Bodies Gym) or by calling 394-BOOK (2665).  The book will retail for $75.00.
